Our cat, the master of the split-second dash—door barely ajar, and he was gone. A magnetic bullet catch changed that. The door stays gently closed, and we can step outside in peace.

Upgrade a vintage car stereo with a DIY auxiliary input. Tapping into the CD signal path and adding a selector switch for CD/aux toggling. Build a dipole FM antenna.
